I want a headset that supports real 5.1-7.1 surround sound, so I can localize any incoming sneaky bastard from every angle.

I've done a little research myself and this is the best I found so far meeting my demands:

Could you recommend any other headset for an 80€ budget?

Yes, the ROCCAT Kave is good, but u can also spend a bit less money and buy the Creative Alpha or Sigma. Im using the Alpha and i love it. It has a great Bass to listen to music and its easy to hear sneaking fags behind you coz its Surround The SIgma is just a bit better than the Alpha and newer.

In my opinion, a virtuall surround sound works better than real surround sound. First I had this one here: http://www.speedlink...id=25160&paus=1

But since a few months I use this one from Logitech: http://www.logitech....g/headsets/5095

--> It´s awesome but more expensive

At the end, I don´t think a real surround headset is automatically better than a virtuall surround sound. Also a friend of mine has the roccat kave, it´s not a bad headset but it doesn´t get close to the Logitech one (only around 100$ if you buy it on amazon).

Hmm, I'm still dubious whether virtual surround is better than real. I have no experience on none of them.


Edit: @myname Why did stop using Medusa? Did it go broken? Because I've heard it has the feeling of a cheap manufactured headset.

@Ellanios: I stopped using the headphone because I sold it to another friend, because he needed a new one and I wanted to buy a "high-end" headset instead of a middle class. Actually I don´t think it is broken since I buyed it maybe 1 year ago ^^. But another friend of mine had the headset to, but his stopped working (not broken) so he brought it back to the shop and changen it to the roccat kave. Anyway I can summ up something about the medusa:

+ it´s enjoyable to wear
+ the sound is good (extrem nice bass) especially for the "lower" prize of only around 45 €
+ the cable is using usb and it´s long enough (maybe 3m) but it´s curling in sometimes.
+ there is a special bag attached and the microphone worked fine for me too

- After some hours your ears maybe become hot
- Maybe not the best processing but I can´t remember something bad with my one (sold it in Summer)
- Not the best drivers

Well, another thing for the roccat kave... It´s not an usb headset and I can´t recommend jack plugs for gaming

About Logitech G35, I found it on ebay from an american seller for ~87 € (shipping costs included). That's a very good price compared to the ~104€ I found on domestic stores. But, I'm a little worried for customs charges, even though the item will be sent via USPS which is very reliable and I know that many people never payed any additional charges.

Concerning roccat kave headset, a drawback of that headset is the weight of the multiple drivers due to the real 5.1 surround. Price ~84€(shipping costs included)

A cheaper alternative seems to be Creative Alpha(~54€), but I can't find enough reviews to form a crystal opinion.
