#5473 Why you ban me?

Posted by Ghost on 28 April 2010 - 11:14 AM

Sculder, what are you posting here if you're at work?  :smile:

I've removed the ban... and Sculder meant you should play little more on the #2-4 servers before trying the main server. It's hard gaming on the main server. Not everybody are up to the class.

#5462 New Masterservers.vdf file

Posted by Ghost on 28 April 2010 - 06:44 AM

2. Licensed Steam CSS works with Setti MasterServer2.vdf and Setti MasterServers.vdf both normally.

Great news!

It means the old masterserver installation instructions are still valid. Everybody who are using MasterServers.vdf can continue to do so. Then everybody who have updated to MasterServer2.vdf period can use either of the names.

#5323 GMOD Standalone no servers???

Posted by Ghost on 20 April 2010 - 04:44 PM

Which one is the problem? Creating a Gmod server or finding Gmod servers?

Just follow the masterserver installation instructions and you'll be fine.

#5208 Translation for Masterserver Instructions

Posted by Ghost on 13 April 2010 - 11:58 AM

Setti masterserver instructions will be translated next. The most important translations are Russian and Portugese (Brazilian).

Below you'll find the text to be translated. The text is divided in three parts.

PART I

Setti masterserver

Instructions how to install Setti masterserver

Overview

Working server browser for games (CS:S, CS1.6, DoD:S, TF2, L4D, Steam, ...)

Masterserver is a server which tells clients (that's YOU) what are the IP addresses of game servers (CS:S, CS1.6, TF2, ...). What you need to do is change the default MasterServer IP address to Setti MasterServer IP address. To do that follow the instructions.

The servers which Setti MasterServer shows are listed at http://css.setti.info/servers/. You can [color="#0000FF"]add more servers by submitting them to the form at the bottom of the main page.

After installing masterserver, the servers at Setti will be listed in the in-game server browser. For Steam the servers are found in Servers window. So everything works just like normal, but the servers are fetched from Setti.

[color="#FF0000"][image header] Examples of Setti masterserver usage
[color="#FF0000"][image footer] Examples of Setti masterserver usage. On the left there is Setti masterserver installed in Steam. The server browser window shows all gametypes. On the right the masterserver is used in Team Fortress 2 launched from Steam. Setti masterserver installation goes directly from Steam to Team Fortress 2. The server browser works just like normal.

PART II

Install instructions
Remember to backup your original copies in case you want to revert.

1. Download: MasterServers.vdf
2. Copy MasterServers.vdf to config\ directory
   * Standalone: C:\games\Counter-Strike Source\platform\config\MasterServers.vdf  OR
   * Steam: C:\Program Files\Steam\config\MasterServers.vdf
3. Make MasterServers.vdf read-only
   * Right-click over MasterServers.vdf, select "Properties" and check "Read-only"

Remember to make the file READ-ONLY!

Making the VDF read-only prevents your game or Steam from overwriting it in some cases.

Updating MasterServer.vdf for any gametype (CS:S, CS1.6, DoD:S, TF2, L4D, L4D2, ...) should work. All HL and HL2 game mods use the same kind of server query mechanism.

Steam server browser also works with Setti Masterserver. After patching Steam's Masterserver, all HL1 and HL2 based games launched through Steam will use Setti Masterserver. For example Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead work through Steam.

PART III

Setti masterserver in Left 4 Dead

Players can also find Left 4 Dead servers in Setti master server. Players need to join Steam group [color="#0000FF"]"Setti Games" to see the servers in-game.

The servers are listed on the main screen of the game, and in more detail in the multiplayer screens "Normal" and "Versus". Players not in the "Setti Games" Steam group still see only their Steam friends' servers.

#5133 FAQ: How Setti MasterServer works

Posted by Ghost on 09 April 2010 - 05:26 PM

Yep. HLSW is one way to use the list. The same CSV format of HLSW should be easy to import in other server browser tools also. HLSW is the biggest by far, so it's probably enough.

#5116 server problem

Posted by Ghost on 08 April 2010 - 10:37 PM

Your server is listed:

http://css.setti.inf...90.42.166:27015
http://css.setti.inf...h/93.190.42.166

There is no problem. Have some patience. It says in the information that it may take up to 24 hours for servers to get listed.

Post more information. What is the error message? Have you read instructions?

#2946 [HELP] Gmod 11 Dedicated Server

Posted by Ghost on 04 December 2009 - 03:05 PM

Maybe now. The server submission form wasn't working. Try to submit servers now and see if they get listed. Gmod servers should be no different from other servers.

HL2 DM has been probably updated. That's why all servers are now newer than your release of the game.

#90 Setti server lists

Posted by Ghost on 06 July 2009 - 07:35 PM

One of the most regularly updated, most reliable and easiest to use solutions is Setti serverlist. Players can easily find servers from the list and also add new servers for the list. All servers are checked every 10 minutes if they are currently running and whether they accept connections from cracked clients.

Serverlist includes servers for L4D, CS:S, CS1.6, CZ, DoD, DoD:S, DM and TF2 among lots of other rare game types.

[color=#0040FF]1. Finding servers

1.1 Setti serverlist
Setti serverlist is updated regularly and automatically. Serverlist has all the known servers on the dark side of the Steam. For some rare game types (GMOD, Sven Coop, Natural Selection, DM, ...) there are very few or not at all servers.

1.2 Setti MasterServer
Setti MasterServer is an in-game server browser for HL and HL2 based games (L4D, CS:S, CS1.6, DoD, ...). This patch will list all servers in "Find servers -> Internet" tab. This is very useful patch because no updates are needed, ever. Whenever new servers are added to Setti serverlist they will show in in-game server browser too.

Most popular CS:S releases already include Setti MasterServer in their releases. Thousands of users use it unknowingly. However, if servers do not appear in the Internet tab then the patch can be re-installed.

1.3 Setti favorites list
Setti favorites list is a list for "Find servers -> Favorites" tab. This will list all servers in Favorites list. Favorites file must be downloaded when you want to refresh server list.

    [color=violet]Setti favorites list

    Install for extracted (standalone) CS:S: Overwrite platformconfigServerBrowser.vdf with the link above.
    Install for Steam: Overwrite configServerBrowser.vdf with the link above.
    General instruction for any game (DoD, DoD:S, ...): Overwrite ServerBrowser.vdf with the link above.

[color=#0040FF]2. Adding new servers to serverlist

2.1 Setti serverlist
New servers can be added by any user. There is a field at the bottom of the Setti mainpage which adds new servers to the serverlist. All servers are tested to be working before adding to the actual list. This way all the servers which are on the serverlist will work.

[color=#0040FF]3. Comprehensive statistics for the servers

3.1 Global server stats
Global stats include statistics for CS:S, CS1.6 and combined other servers. Statistics show amount of servers and amount of players for last day and last year. Servers located on a world map can be also seen. People can look for servers which are close to them on the world map.

3.2 Individual server stats
Every server in the serverlist is queried every 10 minutes. Graphs about player amounts, mapcycle and rank in Setti serverlist are generated.

[color=#0040FF]4. For developers

[color=#008000]Please, contact Setti administration if you plan to use these "tools". There are already programs which unnecessarily get files from Setti website because the developers do not know what they are doing.

If you are author of program which does either of the following:

    Fetch MasterServers.vdf from css.setti.info. Same program also fetches all.txt.
      Fetching MasterServers.vdf is completely unnecessary because the file does not change. If Setti server changes IP only then it is necessary for MasterServers.vdf to update.

    Check unnecessarily whether servers are cracked with "dummy clients".
      Servers which are obtained through Setti serverlist have been already checked. No further checking is necessary. These "dummy clients" disturb game servers. Setti server checker does the checking with more kindness for game servers.
Telling about your program which uses css.setti.info "services" would be also nice.

4.1 Serverlist in text format
List of all servers can be obtained in text format. Servers are easy to parse from plain text file for use in other programs. Notice that all servers which are listed on this list are alread checked to be on the dark side of the Steam and do not need to be checked again. All servers in the list are also up and running.

http://css.setti.info/all.txt

4.2 Serverlist in vdf (Favorites) format
List of all servers compatible with "Favorites" format is also available. This vdf format is probably compatible with several other game types too (CS:S, CS1.6, DoD, DoD:S, HL2:DM, ...).

#77 Rates

Posted by Ghost on 01 April 2010 - 12:52 PM

New version of Ratetables [ http://css.setti.inf...ads/ratetables/ ] is getting readier. The output system is now totally new and the system uses XML-RPC API. It means the server statistics with player rates can be collected and processed separately more easily. The server side of the thingy is working on the game server and the output rendering of the statistics is running client side at css.setti.info.

Take a look at the rates page at http://css.setti.info/setti/rates/

Then in addition to the server side system and the PHP side output rendering, there is a separate ban&kick client which will actually kick the low rate players. Now the kicker is not activated because everything's still in testing phase.

#15 Guide Server Browser of the Rev Emu

Posted by Ghost on 30 March 2010 - 07:02 AM

Note: Original text by R3D4NG3L

I have created a guide to let work the Server Browser of the Rev Emu with the new updated MasterServer.vdf of the Setti CSS (updated at 2009-06-09).

In the package there is a ReadMe that helps you to install it correctly and let it work;

This is the ReadMe:

|~~\/~\|~~\  /| |\  | /~~\/~\|      |~~\   |

|__/  <|   |/_|_| \ ||  __  <|  (~  |__//~/|/~//~~|(~/~/

|  \\_/|__/   | |  \| \__/\_/|___)  |  \\/_|\/_\__|_)\/_

INSTALL THIS RELEASE TO PLAY LEFT 4 DEAD NO-STEAM VERSION HAVING THE SETTI MASTERSERVER.VDF UPDATED AT 06/09/2009 (2009-06-09)

  1) Open the file "rev.ini" and search for: "CachePath =";

     Modify the path of your CachePath; set it to the folder where your .GCF files are located.

  2) Always in the file "rev.ini" search for: "Language =";

     Modify the language of the serverbrowser, you can choose from one of this: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, sChinese,

     Korean, Koreana, tChinese, Japanese, Russian, Thai, or Portugeuse

  3) Always in the "rev.ini" search for: "PlayerName =";

     Replace "R3D-Fan!" with your nickname.

  4) Take ALL the files from this package and paste them into your LEFT 4 DEAD Game Dir;

     Mine is in: D:\Program Files (x86)\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead

     WARNING: You have to put all the files in the Left 4 Dead Game Dir and not in the Left 4 Dead dir:

     EXAMPLE

     Right path: D:\Program Files (x86)\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead

     Wrong path: D:\Program Files (x86)\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead

Now the Revolution Emulator is installed open the game (left4dead.exe), open the console and type: "bind F12 openserverbrowser";
Close the console, press F12, go to the Internet Tab, refresh the server list, join a server and have fun!!!!

Hope the be usefull,
