i downloaded and copy files to css folder but whhen i click css shortcut it says "tier0.dll could not found" how could i fix it?

Maybe Valve can employ some more programmers/gamedesigners/... for releasing better updates then

Btw, is it possible that cracked version and steam version don't work 100% together on one pc? Sometimes I got errors by switching between them and I have to restart my pc... anyone else got that problem by using both of them?

I've had problems running different versions. Closing Steam helped always. The small icon in the notification bar must be closed too.

Why so expensive? We have here in shops 150-250 rub (~Euro 4-6/legit Steam+2 bonus games from Valve). CSS is an old game, shouldnt be Euro 20. Thats stupid when old games are sold at the price of new games IMHO.

BTW. I have two installed CSS, one on C another one on D disk, Have no problems when both running during one time. Only one problem occured recently after steam's update, my cracked game doesnt emulate new steam ID every reload, it got somehow legit Steam ID 0:0:xxxxxxxx and it is not changed any more even after turning laptop off. That's was surprise for me really, coz i know i always got different steam account every reload.

You are right, but in my Steam-shop it's sold for 19.99 € exactly, maybe 'cause in western Europe PC-gamers seem to be rich

I bought it 2 or 3 years ago for 10€ in Steam-Shop. Maybe they rise and lower the price on market demand!

And back to my CSS prob, it just appears when I play with Steam, then quit (just game), play with DZ-release(not updated), quit, and then start Steam-version. Then I can't find any server and can't connect to IPs. And this just appeares since the BIG Css update, there was everything ok before.

I have heard that Eastern Europe is not in good condition like Russia too. I think same level. Why you should pay more? We russians dont buy from Steam-shop, coz dont use electronic money + games there are really expensive: around Euro 40 for new game. Usually russians buy soft in supermarket or special shop in the city for cash.

And back to that prob, so your cracked game is also changed? That means that update influence somehow to files of cracked ver too... Maybe we have to make files and directories write-protective (read-only files)?

I guess that both Steam and the game store information in Windows registry. That way when you start either Steam or the standalone game they can mess up the data in the registry.

Start -> Run -> regedit.exe -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Steam -> here seems to be lots of stuff about accounts and etc. Although "non-steam" has the "non" in the name it can still read registry from the same place. Do not edit registry!

I notice this usually when I change name in Steam and the same name is in use in the standalone release as well.

No, cracked version is always fine, only the Steam-Version fails sometimes... I get a you-need-steam-message (don't remember the exact message right now) when i try to connect with steam version, though steam is running... You can't open CSS if steam is not running!

That's exactly what I had. If you have Steam running and you play cracked game, then all the other games launched via Steam complain "This game requires you be running Steam" (or something). For me it was enough to restart Steam. After that it didn't complain anymore. Also, if Steam was closed when playing cracked games, then it didn't matter. The problems occurred only when Steam was on background and I played cracked game. That's why I usually kept my Steam closed.

Hmm.. why is the site slow? For me it's fast always. Haven't noticed slowness.

Is it only the forum that's slow or is the whole site slow? My theory at the moment is that you don't have reverse DNS which causes the forum to start some security stuff. Is it always slow or did it just happen now?

If this site is slow, then go to http://www.whatismyi...name-lookup.asp and see if you've got hostname. Click "Host Lookup" there and see if you get result something else than xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

Few others have complained about the slowness too. However, it's difficult to fix if it's just random problem.
