Masterserver is the service that sends IP addresses of game servers to clients.

Here's what happens when you press "Refresh" on the server browser.

• Your game sends request to Setti MasterServer (You -> MasterServer)
  
• Your game receives a list of game server IP addresses (MasterServer -> You)
  
• Your game queries servers in the list (You -> [Server IP addresses])
  
• Your game receives replies (server name, players, rules) from the game servers (GameServer -> You)
  
• You see servers in the server browser

Yep. HLSW is one way to use the list. The same CSV format of HLSW should be easy to import in other server browser tools also. HLSW is the biggest by far, so it's probably enough.

Submit server IP in the form at the bottom of the main page. Setti server scanner will then automatically check your server.

Setti isn't looking for affiliates at the moment. You can use Setti's services as provided.

Hi, with your masterserver.vdf i only find servers which say "No-Steam" but i bought the original game so i want to have all servers. How can I join the other servers do i need another masterservers.vdf to do that?

You can delete the masterservers.vdf and restart steam. That way you'll get the normal masterservers.vdf from Valve. If you want to go back to Setti's list, then you can follow the instructions at http://css.setti.inf...r-instructions/ again.

You have to close Steam before you start deleting the files. Otherwise Steam will rewrite them.
