Tip: To take your SteamID, open CS:S and join a server. Then open console, type status and take your SteamID.

I can't connect to CS-S server on Steam as I don't have it. I downloaded the CS-S game from setti and wish to make my server available for fellow setti users etc. So no I don't have Steam ID.

If your server is nosteam, then it's very important that you open this file: cstrike/addons/sourcemod/configs/core.cfg and change the following value, so it's like this:

 

"SteamAuthstringValidation" "no"

So what if I don't have Steam ID for CS:S how do i become the admin for the server? 

How do i configure file admins_simple in the C:SRCDScstrikeaddonssourcemodconfigs folder.

Yeah you can have SteamID with non-Steam CS:S too! It's the same process.

All right guys, Admin part done, Ports done.

 

Yes my IP is dynamic but I have requested a static IP, hope to get it in a week's time. In the mean time i have registered with no-ip.com and got a nice dynamic domain india.servecounterstrike.com where the IP is 122.252.231.12:27015 and I am having this IP from last one week or so, So my IP is not changing all the time

 

Now am starting up the server for testfire, would request you guys to please connect and help testing

Afterall both of you spent so much time teaching me from scratch with enormous patience.

My server is running rite now but I couldn't connect to it, and surely you won't. following is the screenshot.

Have a look at my router configuration.

Try this:

SRCDS1 UDP 27015 27015

SRCDS2 TCP 27015 27015

And if you want SourceTV too: SRCDS3 UDP 27020 27020

Hey, please send me a screenshot of the "port range forwarding" tab, I think that's better in this case.

Yes, no-ip.com might be a way, but I was asking because CS:S converts the domain to an ip address and saves the ip address in history and favorites.

so far I tried making my system a dmz that means all ports open, I know this is risky but just did for testing.
tried disabling avast firewall temporarily. so far I am only able to ping my ip address but nothing else above that.

called my isp to look into the issue, they said my ip is not under NAT so should not be an issue. expecting a formal response in a few hours.

are there any services on my system that need to run as a prerequisite?
