Hi all, I want to make a CS:S server which works on lan/Hamachi(you probably read that in the title ), so where can I download the server, how to crack it?, does it need a port forward if I want o play on lan/hamachi???

 

BTW I know how to setup a server no need to tell me that

As a first step go here and download/install the server and its update patches: http://css.setti.inf...dows-steampipe/

Follow the instructions that are mentioned in the topic very carefully so you do everything right. After you are finished and make sure that the server is working perfect and you can join to it, we will guide you on how to make it work with hamachi.

You don't have to use Hamachi or something like this, if you followed the instructions in Silents topic and did the port forwarding then you can connect using the IP.

right, I can protect the server with a password so only my friends can join , thx alot

doesn't this release "steampipe" already work on LAN play?

simply connect 2 pc's one to another, make a server and play?

do i need some other stuff installed?

Make a server. Then make sure that the port of the server isn't blocked by Windows firewall, Anti-Virus firewall or router's firewall. If everything is set properly, clients will be able to see the server on the server browser's "Lan" tab. They can connect to it by double clicking on it or use this command on console: "connect [internal ip here]".

 

*internal ip = the local ip of the machine that the server is hosted.

Tip: To find out the internal ip of the machine that the server is hosted, open CMD on that machine, type "ipconfig" and hit enter. The internal ip (IPv4) will look like this: 192.168.X.X

and also the CS1.6, cause i might play it in the future, maybe.
