He Downloaded CSS from here. "Counter.Strike.Source.SteamPipe.[Setti]". Yes, First the v8 and then, the v12. But if he install only the v8, the game dont open anymore. :/

The bad part in all this is that we get no error at all. If there was some error it would help us. Hmm.. Tell him to try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Test it and then let me know if he had some progress.

Alright i want him try this now:

- Go to the root folder of the game.

- Locate the "rev.ini" file and open it with notepad.

- Find this line: ProcName=hl2.exe -game cstrike -steam -console -novid

- At the end of that line add a space and type: -window

> The line should now look like this: ProcName=hl2.exe -game cstrike -steam -console -novid -window

- Save the file, run the game and report here if it worked.

 

* If it worked try to change back to full screen from the game options and check if it will crash.

I googled it a bit and i saw others having the same issue in the past. They mentioned that it's a Windows 10 issue which will be fixed by some update for the OS. Does your friend keep the OS up-to-date?

Hello everybody.

It's been a while since the last post in this thread. The forum was down for some period...

 

There was an update in CS:S recently so i worked on it. The forum was still down. So i posted the download links of the game and its new update patch, in the description of the featured video tutorial on YouTube. Now that forum is up again, i updated the main page of the thread. You will find the download link of the new v13 update patch there. I tested it myself before i upload it and it was working fine. I was able to join online servers. Let me know if you get any problem though.

 

I would suggest you all bookmark the featured video tutorial just in case forum goes down again. That way you will not have to wait till forum goes up in order to download.

Yo!!!

 

after many years, i wanted to start playing again. So i downloaded and installed the 13. patch.

 

when i try to start the game, the cursor is "launching" but after few sec, nothing happends. I tried -window, reintallings, open as administrator etc.. 

Anything else? Its weird..

recently with the v12 patch i got this message when i tried to launch a LAN server game :

 

CD Key authentication invalid for internet servers.

 

 

So i update in v13 but the message still here and i cant play...

I installed the game myself so to see if there is indeed such a problem with the current patch. After i installed the game and the v13 patch, i was able to play both online and offline.

 

What i suggest you is reinstall the game (our release) and then the updaye patch v13.

Did you do everything based on the video tutorial in the 1st page? Is everything done correctly? Do you start the game via the shortcut as administrator? Wht's your operating system?

Is this updated to the Patch on June 19, 2017 --Fixed being unable to start any map in single-player mode I play offline so I need to know.

I connected to our CS:S server with up-to-date legist Steam CS:S successfully. So our CS:S servers are up-to-date.

Then i closed Steam and i installed our non-Steam CS:S and then its latest update patch v13.

I run the game via the desktop shortcut as administrator and i tried to connect to our CS:S servers.

I connected successfully without any issue. Then i tried to play offline. That worked as well.

 

Conclusion:

The game works offline and online.

Btw how do you set launcher options since the target starts in revloader.exe not in hl2.exe?
Does autoexec,cfg work in this release?

 

For launch options, go to the root folder of the game and open the rev.ini file with notepad.

Then locate the following line: ProcName=hl2.exe -game cstrike -steam -silent /help

Your launch option(s) must be seperated from the others with a space.

 

About autoexec.cfg, yes it works. You can find it inside the \cstrike\custom\setti\cfg\ folder. You can open it with notepad.
