I have a standalone GMod, and I haven't tried anything for fixing the master server settings yet. I was wondering, before I try any of that, what is the master server IP?

You don't need that. In fact, couple days ago a benchmark was made how much unnecessary masterserver connections there were to Setti Masterserver. Take a guess? 30000 unique IP addresses in 10 minutes. What?! Yes, 30k server admins are announcing their servers to Setti and they are all ignored. People are stupid. People who make releases which have Setti IP address as default in Masterserver. Gah...I have a standalone GMod, and I haven't tried anything for fixing the master server settings yet. I was wondering, before I try any of that, what is the master server IP?
Answer to your question is that you need to submit your server IP in the form at the bottom of the main page. Setti server scanner will then automatically scan your server to see whether it is up or not and whether it accepts connections or not. Writing "setmaster 188.40.40.201" in config.cfg is unnecessary - until probably now. It is quite a big surprise that there are so much heartbeat connections - practically hundreds every minute - to Setti IP address although it has never worked that way.
In a way this is how ignorant people have won this fight. It is possible that in the near future Setti (masterserver) will record heartbeat connections from the servers and add them to the serverlist too. It is quite likely though that most of these servers are home-connection servers and only online for a few hours at most. So in that sense they are useless for casual players who like to play on dedicated servers.

Try using the search: http://css.setti.inf...e/1/search/gmod or look at the Other games list: http://css.setti.info/servers/other/ (look at the Gametype column).
There are not many patched GMod servers. It is very possible that you can't find any.
