Setti's website launched for HTTPS

Hello.

Setti's website is now more secure. The new version is encrypted with high security SSL encryption. The secure version of Setti's website is located at https://css.setti.info/.

Note that on some pages there is content from social media sites which do not provide HTTPS version of their services. Thus some pages may have warning about partially encrypted content. Also, forums are limited to HTTP version due to forum software's lack of support for HTTPS.

Good news, but SSL required for authorization only... Not good to do main page in SSL. It make problems:
1. Some browsers does not support SSL
2. Some browsers work SHOCKED slow in SSL mode
3. Some browsers can not verify SSL (official or not)

Main page should be maximum pretty for users.
Lets make setti better!

No one is forcing to use SSL.

SSL is required for safe browsing. Plain secure login page is useless.

Without SSL:
1) Government can see what you read
2) Government can see what you write
3) Government can control what you say

With SSL:
1) Fight the power :gun:

Also, all browsers support SSL, it's not slow unless you're from the 90's, and the certificate is valid unless you use browser by your government

Google Chrome good browser
Without SSL - css.setti.info - 0,32 sec
With SSL - 1,78 sec

Well there are many articles that US Government (CIA) funded google. If someone is concerned about privacy Chrome is a bad choice. I think its partially open source now. Not sure. But the fact is still - product of big brother.

I was talking about privacy not speed. When encrypting HDD you not doing it because it will work faster.

Forum doesn't support true SSL. There is only login phase SSL support in the forum software. It sucks.

Login and password must be protected. Choose SSL in authorization forms in ipb admin.

Other forum will be visible to anyone anyway.

Why would you want to encrypt your login information but not rest of the site?

Here's imaginary scenario:

Russian government is spying on MvPRO. MvPRO logins securely with SSL to Setti. Then he sends unsecurely PM to his Russian comrade. Russian government doesn't know MvPRO's login and password, but they can read the PM. Are you satisfied with your most valuable secret being encrypted? ;)

My Traffic can be grab by professional hackers.

But if it`s in SSL they can not get my password.

So - secured.

There is no secret in PM.
