The initial budget was 1000€

SSD 2.5" 120Gb Ocz Vertex 2E SATA II 173,11
Noctua NH-D14 - 69,02
Intel Core i5 2400 Box 1155 1 155,20

for a total of 989€
Since than i also bought another 4gb of ram, a fan controler, 4 Noctua fans
and a dust filter for another 200€
Sata 3 ssd weren't available when i bought the parts, maybe i'll upgrade later. I would had considered also 560ti as it is 35% cheaper and only 20% slower than the 570.
i'm also looking arround for a Dell u2711.
P.S. i don't know wth i did with the size of the pictures......

Anyway, the 2 cards are pretty much neck and neck.

Either one will do the job but the reason I mentioned the 6970 is because you've the option to drive 3 monitors with a single card, called Eyefinity.

I'm thinking of building a new rig from scratch too but i have only managed to save 650 euros so far so i cant get anything decent
My athlon x2 2 gb ram 9500 gt "monster" isn't cutting it anymore.

Thx...650€ you can get a i5 system easy...except the monitor.
