What's the point in searching for a quiet GFX card and then filling the tower with 6 MASSIVE fans ? I have a stock cooler on my Core i7 920, nothing in front of the HX750W, one 12 cm PWM fan at the rear and one 9cm PWM fan for two HDDs and the temps are nicely low and I bet it's quieter than yours. I personally never liked the idea of spending money on those grotesque heatsinks and numerous fans.

Don't bet...you'll lose your money. The 120mm fans are running at 550rpm, the heatsink fans are running at a constant 900rpm. The case has aluminium/plastic/aluminium side panels + noise absorption foam, the only noticeable sound when playing at night is the videocard fan speeding up, but not by a great deal. The point of spending money on big heatsinks and fans is to get the most amount of airflow with the least amount of noise.

i bought my comp in winter 2009 for 535€
it had
Q9400 quadcore @2.66 ghz
Radeon HD 4850
4gb ram
small asus mainboard
cheap 600w psu
1000 gb samsung hd (bought 2 more WD caviar black 1000gb)
and a very cool case of course, black with blue light
(you can see it in the background of my image ;/ )

its running day and night without any problems -respect for cheap supply :smile-thumbs-up:
and it was running crysis on very high settings (running better on high)
but now i got a Sapphire HD 6870 toxic 1gb -low price 209€ low noise
and comes overclocked to 970 freaking megahertz out of teh box
no problems with crysis on very high now + anti aliasing (and i paid about 745€ minus the new hard drives)

oh and i just noticed that this smiley looks like dr. kleiner :geek:

Generally, I would try to avoid tom's. When it comes to reviews, check anandtech, hardocp or techpowerup.
Anyway, the 2 cards are pretty much neck and neck.

Either one will do the job but the reason I mentioned the 6970 is because you've the option to drive 3 monitors with a single card, called Eyefinity.
Have a look here:

Radar is on left far away. He used full screen radar. So it renders that display useless already. Unless you with vision -10.

Corsair TX850W PC Power Unit 109€

I would go for AX850W €180.
Test shows they are more efficient and most important quiet. TX850 under 400W ok, but rapidly accelerates after. Up to 2000 RPM!

Umm... I feel pretty miserable right now, looking at your specs... But wth, here's my cheap pile of crap:
Sapphire radeon x1950gt 256mb gddr3 (600/1500Mhz): 10€
Some 380w psu with Pentium 4 sticker on it: 4€
Kingston ddr2 667Mhz 1gb x2: got it for free
Intel pentium dual core 1.6Ghz: also free
Asrock 775 Dual-Vsta: 15€
160Gb sata hd: free
2x 8cm cooler, one 12cm: free (8cm from my old pc, others from broken psu:s :P ): free
And that is a total of 29€! Pretty cheap compared to those others... And also slow...
I am 24% addicted to Counterstrike. What about you?

though I spent a lot of money for my old pc 3 years ago, my new setup will be much cheaper:

new case: Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced

new CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 560 cuz i dont need 4 or more cores just for css or l4d2...

new GPU: ASUS EAH6850

new Mainboard: ASUS M4A87TD well I bought an other version with usb3.0 (asus m4a87td evo), not available anymore

new Ram: Corsair DIMM 4 GB DDR3-1333

my old hard drives are still ok and my old 450W power unit is also quite enough. I also got a 1080p screen last year so no new one needed.

Total ~440€ for PC good enough for the next 3 years
