Hello.

I finally managed to patch a fresh installation of CSS Server on linux and Esteamation works fine. I will now try to submit my server, which is on 109.99.143.211:27015.

If this works, it will remain permanently online, maybe with a few hours downtime during the next weeks or so for addons and plugins installation and configuration and for OS maintenance.

I am posting this because at the moment I have no clear picture of what may cause my server to be removed or banned and I want to be sure it won't be removed or banned . It may be empty, with 0 players, at the beginning, but this is intended to be a long term server. It also hosts the webserver that holds at least 2 sites, the server's and my own company's site, the MySQL for everything and maybe other stuff in the future, so I'm not planning any hit'n'run.

Well... strange stuff: just tried to install metamod and sourcemod, and the server fell OFFLINE on your site. I and others can connect to it without any problem though.

Maybe it's related to something you did.

Backed up to a backup I did when it worked. Still offline.

One more thing... is the statistics page realtime? I mean if I would make my server work and hit refresh, would it change right away to green (online) ?

I will try another clean installation when I get back from work...

But this is not OK. I mean I edit half a character in a config that doesn't even have anything to do with the core and the damn thing just explodes bigtime... NOT OK, not ok at all...

OK, but what I want to emphasize is that I am working on it. This will not be a "fake" server. Already downloaded a fresh copy with update tool, when I get home I will patch it and give it another shot.

It's been mostly online since last night and didn't have any player online so far. I can play on it though (different ISP than server ISP).

nice...ping problem in all players fixed?

I am not aware of any ping problem so far, except the "unnamed" hack, that throws everyone, including me, on LAN, to 800-900 ping by increasing CPU Usage. I am currently not aware if I managed to solve the problem or not, but it seems I get attacked more rarely now than in the first few days. The "unnamed" player still connects from time to time though, as I have a MySQL database keeping track of every player login. It would be nice if I would make a script to log CPU usage too, or ping, or whatever...

I had players from my country and pings are super-ok, like well under 40. I think I had one from Poland with 50 or so. If you get 100+, it seems more like a "peering" problem between ISPs, I think...

P.S.: I've heard that we romanians are some lucky bastards about internet speed... My boss says that in other countries, 1 MB/s download is pretty rare, while around here 6-7-8 MB/s download is common stuff... I wonder if this is true ?

Due to unexpected expenses and douchebag ISPs in my country, I will be unable to keep the server online until around 5th of July. Sorry for this.

Server is back online. Might have some downtime, for addons and plugins installation and configuration and for OS maintenance, but I intend to keep it online from now on. Got myself a better job, with less working hours and better payment, so I should have enough resources to keep this baby up and running.

Be advised this is still a minimal installation, running only bare server & patch. I want to install all the addons & stuff until the end of the week.
