Marathon playing competition next weekend!


Next weekend (starting Friday 3rd of July) starts a competition for longest online session playing CS:S. Rules are simple: 

 1. Join Setti

 2. Play as long as you can continuously

 3. Winner is determined on Sunday (or later if someone is on a streak ;-)
On Sunday we'll check Psychostats for the longest online sessions during the weekend. For more info check this thread: Contest for longest online session!

Setti server upgrades to a faster server!


Setti server is going to have complete system upgrade.For CS:S server this will bring the long needed performance boost. The new IP address is 188.40.40.201:27015 or familiar css.setti.info:27015. Update your favorites and inform your friends!


NOTE! Setti MasterServer updates


This upgrade will also change Setti MasterServer IP address! Please update IP to 188.40.40.201. From this moment on css.setti.info will point to that IP address.

DOWNLOAD UPDATED MasterServers.vdf HERE!

If all else fails, remember the serverlists at servers page. Check IP and write "connect IP:port" in game console.

Serverlist for TF2
Serverlist for L4D
All servers (DoD, DoD:S, HL2DM, etc, ...)

Check forums at masterserver board the stickied thread. There are instructions how you can update the IP address of Setti MasterServer. MasterServer is the service that sends the IP addresses of game servers to your game. The IP address got changed couple weeks ago. Post at forums for more help & info.

i updated to the new server ad all that but after playing yesterday i opened css and when opened the server browser it said cannot connect to the master server... i added css.setti.info:27015 to the favourites and i can see it but cant play on the internet mode

MasterServer only sends the IP addresses of game servers. It doesn't affect whether you can connect or not to the actual servers. Check the forums and especially Masterserver board for more help.

It's a custom low-rate kicking system. You can fix the problem by setting your GFX settings low and lowering the screen resolution. That will give you better FPS which will improve your rates. Check this thread for more info: Ratetables - Low rate tracking system launched		2009-06-18 00:57:14

Since i play on the new setti i always get kicked, because of low rates. But i fixed my rates.
For example on another server you canīt play without fixed rates and i can play on this server. Does anyone now what the problem is?

rofl25We've Got a HUGE problem. I use the latest Digitalzone Non-steam CS:S, then i DLed the masterserver.vdf file here, did the read only thing, chnaged the masterserver.vdf in the steam folder and in C:\Program Files\VALVe\Counter-Strike:Source\config , And i get the following error (Link to screenshot): [url]http://i43.tinypic.com/16gfos8.jpg[\url]

k1llerClose all games. Close Steam. Find all MasterServers.vdf files in your game directory and/or in Steam. Delete them all. Then follow the install instructions again.

ultrapwnedi got the new masterserver thing, it worked well at first but now when i go to find servers, it says "can't contact master server to retrive servers" i dont know whats wrong with it....
plz help.

k1llerI'm not sure I fully understand what is your problem. Setti server is a CS:S server so you can't connect there with CS1.6. It depends on the server patch whether it accepts protocol 47 or 48 CS1.6 clients to join the server. You just need to test servers and see which ones you can join.

Check http://css.setti.info/servers/list-cs16.php and see the game version. You should be able to figure out which servers you can join and what not.		2009-06-13 18:45:19

I downloaded Cs 1.6 digital Zone like 2 weeks ago or more.
Everything was going fine , then i logged in one day and there it was on find servers
css.setti.info was the name of it , i went to the web (Here) , i added the server and tried to log on it , it said my version doesnt match it.
