Hi,

I have been wondering for quite some time now, why there's no rules set up for the setti servers and possibly a kick ability for the "minor" violations?

I would strongly advise setti administration to come up with some rules for the servers (or just have the idea of it, in the mind) - sure the majority of people wont follow some of the rules maybe.
but the rules it self dont need to be harsh to follow. They could be as following:

Respect others (especially regulars and administrators)
No racial or religious slurs.
[color=#000000]Hackers will be banned without warning.
[color=#000000]exessive teamkilling will not be tolerated and may result in kick/ban

And this is i think fairly easy to setup, maybe add it to the MOTD or something?

The reason for me to create this topic is because there have been quite a few players (regulars as well) that have complained about people who either: teamkill excessively, disrespect them in such a way that they dont feel like playing in the server etc. - one of those people who are disrespecting people (and specially me) is a player named "Philanthrop" - what he does i call exessive disrespect without any reason. And he does it fully aware that us admins cant do anything to him.

[color=#000000]Take this for an example(made up example): a player keeps calling an admin fag, calling the admins mother bad things etc. - the admin can not lift a finger because the player is not cheating. - so the poor admin can only bite the dust and take a facefull of crap. -

Now that i've wrote about rules and stuff i would like to write something about the way cheaters are banned on.
Well... admins need to be discrete about their status of being admin etc. - but that "rule" if called so - is broken by the server it self when an admin has issued an ban, the admins nick is displayed also in the game chat. Can't this be.. changed or something? - it can be quite annoying when people keep spamming out stuff when they find out whos an admin. (in the end it cant be a little secret for ever )

Personally I don't think the rules change anything. Stupid people act stupid regardless of rules. Normal people can behave without being told about it.

You can ask full admins to permban players if necessary. There doesn't have to be any rule for full admin to ban someone.

Also dealing with racial slurs, disrespecting and etc. is part of the game. Regular players need to be able to deal with certain amount of it. Similarly admins should be able to take similar feedback from players. If you can't handle the game there is always the disconnect option.

What about showing admin's name if some1 gets banned? Is it possible to vanish that?

LOL... if you star making rules, no one will talk in the servers just incase they offending some one... I agree that some people goes to far.. but most admins I know have a good sense of justice.

Yea but when a noob admin rage bans someone for no reason than ppl want to know who it was and come here and report him...

I believe that the name of the admin is useful as well. As panic said above, limited admins may take a wrong decision, so the "victim" must know who ban him.
