Hi guys its been a while.

So i joined #3 the other day after a 1-2 months break due to some health issues just to find the server slightly altered, due to some update patch i pressume, and my everlasting curse got even worse. As i joined the server i found out that my ping was around ~125 instead of my usual ~105 and got kicked from the server. So i would like to ask if there is by any chance the possibility of lowering the ping limit a bit, or if that's not the case i could use some advice on how to lower my ping limit a bit so i could be able to play every now and then. And for those with the "helpful" replies stating that i should change my internet provider, the answer is no i can't i have a very cost efficient package that really suit my needs.

What ping do you get if you enter 'ping' in console?

I experience the same problem quite often. Ever since Setti's servers moved to another host I have at least +10ms compared to the old servers.
In general, my ping is 80-90ms on other German servers, but here it is ~110ms and sometimes blasts off to 150ms.

Console ping is ~175 while the previous console ping was around ~120 and 140

same problem here. Also I cannot aim heads as in the past. Something is diferent in the game play.
(why we are only Greeks with this problem? )

Setti network has some issues that they will be solved soon or later, till then some clients(players) may have high ping rate in our servers.

egypt to german connection is the same or better than greece to german

what about british servers and french servers ???

i get 90 ping to german server and 80 to french servers and 70 to uk servers

if u use router i would advise u to restart the router many times till u get a good ping

• try using this if you use win7/xp http://www.wowinterf...LatencyFix.html if ur using vista just format and put xp/7
  
• also, you can try using a game booster, which disables every network service not needed when gaming http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html
  
• and you can also try using a high fps cfg for css http://www.gamingcfg.com/config/Nooky
  
• you can also try getting a 1000mb ("giga") net card instead of the normal/common 100mb, i got a little bit lower ping on all servers due to this. http://www.tigerdire...0Ethernet%20PCI
  
• and another thing you can do, is calling your isp and complaining about ping times, and asking for fastpath http://www.dslreports.com/faq/1238
  
• also, what is your reply time on "ping pong.setti.info" ? i mean, if you have 120ms response there is nothing to do..

I'ts been a while that i'm having a latency like 20. NEVER happened. Always 60-70.

Ok thaks for all the help you have provided, although i don't understand half of it

I will try some of the things that have been suggested by Menti and hopefully i will get some results. I will let you know if this worked for me.

dont try first program

the first program increase the rate of tcp packets sent to the server
but the problem is that css use udp not tcp packets
so this program will work with certian games but not with css

Nope, CSS uses tcp AND udp.

pre game is tcp
once u join the game its all udp packets

TCP packets are for RCON. UDP packets are for gameplay. I have same problem of ping sometimes.
