I have a similar problem too. I have a headset and everything in options is ok. But when i press the key for voice chat in game, it's not working!  :blink:

v key is da beast!

okay so what i did is:

set as default the microphone u're using. as well as on steam and windows settings;

test ur mic on skype or anythng;

don't change anything in steam sound settings - it's for private chat only;

bind V to voice chat in css options;

join setti server and ask if pewpowl can hear ya or create a server, record a demo (command - "record <demonamehere>"), hold V and talk to ur mic, then stop the demo (command - "stop") and the last step is: type "playdemo <nameofthedemoyoujustrecorded>" and listen if u hear ur voice.
