Hey b00bs, when i join one of the hellz.fr servers, after a while my cs:s just shuts down.. But it never shuts down on any other servers... My brother has also downloaded this, newest patch and everything, but for him it does not shut down, ive tried all the things you said in FAQ Please help

EDIT: I forgot to say that i have reinstalled it twice, no change though

Hey.. since v37 / to v40.. CSS crashes!, i tried to reinstall from 0 to 37/38/39/40 still the same HL.exe stop working correctly!? WtF! now i neeed to use patch 0 to 36! (using W7x64) any Fix/Ideas!

Fix it yourself. Problem is in your PC.

Fix it yourself. Problem is in your PC.

My PC is perfectly working i can play everygame without problem and CSS is after v37 working like shit, i cant play on hellz.fr server... FAIL... and dont need to be so harsh, i didnt do anything to you...

Probably problem is with some software incompatibility or game settings. Uninstall McAfee, delete CS:S, reinstall CS:S, add "mat_queue_mode 0" setting to "autoexec.cfg" file.
You can try Directx 8 mode:
write "-dxlevel 80" in CS:S shortcut(left mouse click on shortcut and then go to properties), example:
"I:\Counter Strike Source 2010\hl2.exe" -game cstrike -console -dxlevel 80

but i use sv_cheats 1 for impulse 101 in my cafe we play this game just a Lan mod
but some azz guys use shift+f1 for do cheats

please can you find the name of Dialog panel for edit or delete it from Scripts or resource
or how i can extract all Dialog for search for it

i know how you feel, i cant play CSS properly for month and its getting annoying to wait for a proper fix of all the problems, im going to buy CSS on steam, just having some problems with the paypal account right now...

"sv_cheats 1" means players can cheat. End of story.

Try to disable your firewall/or add an exception in the firewall.

I will show you how to make life harder for those azz guys. I think that there is no build in options to prevent opening debug menu while "sv_cheats" cvar is enabled, to do so, you will need a third party application called [color="#0000FF"]autohotkey. You can download it [color="#0000FF"]here.


step 1 : install autohotkey
step 2 : create autohotkey file called "SayNoToCheats.ahk" anywhere (desktop...)
step 3 : open "SayNoToCheats.ahk" file with your favorite text editor (notepad...) and copy paste this script into ahk file.

step 4 : save and close file.
step 5 : mouse right click on afk file to open file context menu and select "Compile Script". This will convert ahk script into executable binary file (exe).
step 6 : copy exe on any (computer, folder) you want.
step 7 : create and place shortcut in "Startup" folder


That's it, now you have application which blocks "`" and "shift + F1" keys while "hl2.exe" process is running.


In case you're too lazy, you can download already compiled [color="#0000FF"]SayNoToCheats.exe.

I have a little problem. I recently re-downloaded css and used the v40 (0 to 40) patch. When I launched the game and went to options to change my name, I realized I couldn't do so. Name is stuck in css.setti.info. When I try to change it I get this message:

Unknown command "hud_centerid"
exec userconfig.cfg: file size larger than 1 MB!
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/config.cfg

this results in autokick, name can't be changed through console command or the way boobz describes in FAQs.
Anyone had the same problem and if yes, how did you fix it? Thanks in advance for every response

i have a problem, to patch v38 , v39 , v40, previous patches work's perfectly.

my problem is this: i use Pacsteam, and Steam account with, CS:S orange box i press shift+tab ingame , and it's work perfectly, but, v38 v39 and v40 , i cant. play with steam

So i cannot have any Antivirus ? Btw my brother has the same McAfee.. no problems for him :/
I tried that Directx 8 mode thing, didnt work, now it just goes into fullscreen mode when i start, then when i join the server it crashes, like when im joining the server.. :/
