There is something wrong with RevEmu. I have done several tests on my own CS:S release and there are two possible errors that you can get.

1) "hl2.exe has stopped working."

2) "The server requires that you be running Steam."

 

bir3yk (the developer of RevEmu) has already reports about this problem by many people. So he will make a new RevEmu release soon, probably.

Until then, i will test GreenLuma and if it works i will contact with headHUNTERZ so we make a patch. You can even try it yourselves. Go to the link that heady mentioned. The install instructions are very clear and simple.

You can't make a patch. Revemu is non-steam, Greenluma is cracked steam.

if you want to play cs:s i suggest to download  clean install with v76 from bruss org ru website . it has a torrent download , so it will be quick.

 

also it has autoupdater , and most important no crash

 

tough you can't join setti servers

For me worked quite fine, with the little Batch File Elite Shared, -85% Crashes or even better. I could finally play with patch v76.

Without the Batch File Installed, my game would behave really weird. When i was launching the game it would like Launch then black screen, shows Desktop then goes again in Black screen, go into the menu and eventually crash. If i would be lucky it would launch the server and crash in 10 seconds. (all the time it was like this when launch a server, it connects i chose player then in 2 seconds it's like disconnecting and connecting back and i need to chose the player again) If it would launch the server and i could play for a while when crashing it would come up with an error "hl2 stopped working", i click on close and it would come up with another "hl2 stopped working." it's like there were 2 games launched at the same time. So if you wanna play that much you try all the crazy stuff people shared, i chose to try the stuff only from the persons i trust.

why is this patch out anyway, if nobody updated any server, i don't think patch v77 even got out,, LOL.

Well it's easy. Settis servers arent updated because I couldnt test the patch and the servers. The patch has been released 10 minutes before I uploaded it. I posted it in case your favourite server got updated and you cant play.
