Ive downloaded the masterserver.vdf file.Followed the instructions,but i wasnt able to find any masterserver.vdf to replace in my half life directory.What should i do now?

lol create the file, and make sure you have the filename correct, it's "masterservers.vdf". There are not many HL servers though. You should check the serverlist at http://css.setti.info/servers/other/ first and see if you find playable servers at all.
You can connect to the servers by starting your game with "-console" parameter and then writing in the console "connect".

Thanks ill try to connnect directly to the Counter strike 1.6 servers.So theres no way to make counter strike to ask setti for servers,without conecting to WON?
