Headphone CSS Help

So whenever i join a server on CSS, all the guns have weird sounds, and i cant hear footsteps. For example, the m4a1 silencer actually does completely SILENCES(in other words i cant hear the m4a1 when it has the supressor on). The ak-47 sounds really weird, almost like the Five-seven or p228. The desert eagle allso sounds just as weird, almost like the dual elites. So i somewhat figured out a solution: i take the headphones out of my computer and plug them back in. All the noises become super crisp again, and the volume gets way louder and its all good... until the server changes the map. THen i am back to square 1 and the problem is there again. I dont think it is the headphones because i dont physically touch them and it only happens when i join a server or the map changes. Any ideas? Because sometimes it gets REALLY annoying when i forget to plug it back in and i couldnt hear someone creeping behind me and stabbing me with a knife ):

Read again, sound is back to normal when he re-plug the headphones.take a look at this folder "Counter Strike Source 2010\cstrike\sound\weapons" you can see all your sounds there. You could replace the missing/wrong sounds with the right sounds. You have to download for that the "Soundpackage". Or just try to reinstall
@ ipwnaholic
Try to install latest drivers for your soundcard.

But what would playing with the settings do if when i replug it back in it works fine?
or you can try to play with your sound settings from the option menu -> audio (sound quality, speaker configuration)
Listen me carefully. Tell me,what sound card do you have? Is your sound card plug n play? It can't be. You probably mean that your headphones are p n p.
I also want to know if you have big/small speakers and if you have other devices connected in your electricity plug. It is very important to know.
1st )If you have your old headphones try to plug them and see what will happen. If the problem still continues with the old headphones, then the problem is from your sound card drivers or the plug from the sound card or from the sound card generally
2nd) If the old headphones are ok,then I am sorry but your new Yapster belongs to the garbage..
