hey all, i have trouble playing CSS setti. it keeps giving me "hl2.exe has stopped working" and i have done every thing in the FAQ and iv looked at other website and nothing is working.

PLEASE HELP ME!

Completetly uninstall CSS.

Update video drivers.
Update Anti-Virus and make sure that it is not blocking hl2.exe (also check your firewall)
Uninstall smartsteam if you have it.
Make sure resource intensive applications are not running in the background.

Then re-install CSS.

iv updated video drives even tho they where the latest driver, iv checked my anti-virus, i dont hav smart steam i hav legit steam but close it every time i open CSS (setti) and im not sure wat u mean by "[color=#282828]Make sure resource intensive applications are not running in the background. "

1. update all motherboard drivers.
2. update directX after you updated video drivers
3. uninstall video/audio codec packs (k-lite codec pack is well known troublemaker) and for watching pr0n use some standalone player with integrated codecs (MPC-HC, VLC).

3.dont hav any codec packs apart from the standard win7
4.no help
