Hello, It has come to my understanding that the map will be removed and a new one will be added. This is unfortunate for people who have spent time making houses, I mean why change maps everytime a major update is released its just gonna get people nowhere and its very annoying.
Anyway I currently run a MineCraft Offline Server myself, Would it be possible if I grab a copy of ur old map before its just abandoned and deleted?

i fully agree for map reset,
but want a copy of old map to play in singleplayer mode.

If you want to download the offline server map go to minecraft forums and search for world downloader or map saver.

I'm not sure I agree, Notch said that this release is just so that they can say they are no longer beta but they will keep updating the game.
