Long time since ive been on setti..
I was thinking is it possible to somehow setup a bought steam server (CS:S), so the nonsteam players can join it?
Ive tried google but all i can find is the DPROTO stuff that allows a steam server to run dual protocols.. but thats only for CS 1.6.
any ideas or is it just simply impossible to do?

Here's a tutorial for how to patch SRCDS server: http://css.setti.inf...nlinux-updated/
Basically you are doing a non-Steam server because it's patched. It's called non-Steam because Steam validation is not required for players to join.

thanks for the reply's..
haha im gonna try to ask them to give full permission on the folder, then lets just hope they dont figure out why i want that haha ..ive tried chmod it my self but not allowed to..
Its kind of stupid, im paying for it, so why should they restrict me in modding it :/ lets say in case of the steamclient.so got corrupted in some way then im forced to make a ticket, wait for them to fix, etc etc. pff.. BTW: if you take killercreation.co.uk servers then they havent restricted anything, so maybe in the future i'll switch to their services instead
