when i try to join a server it says retrieving server then it stop loading or sometimes when it download somthing it stopa nd stop loading idk why thsi is happening..... please help

ive got a problem when i run css it says " error reading aplication id. Please either write it to steam_appid.txt or use the launcher! " thanks for the help pelase help me
