I'll post here when redirect servers have been removed.
We've got to streamline removing servers from Setti' server list. Currently it's much manual work both finding the redirect servers and actually removing them from the list.
Servers with fake players are not that bad.

It`s ok. I think you can create report section or web-form where any1 can report.Thanks.

Is dproto subserver option allowed? It is need for correct server reply and redirect some old client types.
Where i can read detailed rules about redirects?
Thank you.

Fake players are allowed although it's extremely stupid. What do you think your normal players think of the server when they join and see that they've been fooled?

213.222.47.113 = 30+ redirects servers
89.215.79.132 = 6+ redirect servers
82.119.88.209 = 40+ redirect servers
I hope it will help setti for better performance in the near future but you have to bann those hundred redirect servers.

82.119.88.209 = 40+ redirect servers
The one with 213.222.47.113 has clearly stated that he's got new server at another IP. I think it's cool as long as it's just temporary and he doesn't use fake server names.
Other than that we're still working on making everything much more automatical. This kind of manual work is not going to work in the long run.

this is clear http://css.setti.inf.../213.222.47.113
I see 30 fake 30/32 sloted servers and didn't understand what you mean ?

It`s OK, but they get players because of breaking rules! For example:Banned from Setti lists:
82.119.88.209 = 40+ redirect servers

Hmm.. quick "solution" to this would be to limit listing only for example 8 servers per IP. Then the maximum of fake servers per IP would be 8. There wouldn't be 100 fake servers on the list. This would also limit normal server admins to 8 servers per IP, but I don't know any servers which have 8 or more servers in the same IP. I know it's possible, but I don't know any real servers. That's why it might be possible meanwhile we get better solution. Whaddaya think?
Now I'll try to streamline the process of banning servers from the list. It's too difficult at the moment.

Not good solution.
For example: http://css.setti.inf...h/92.241.176.65 - all servers are real (they have really powerful hardware)
And if it is possible dont ban servers IP with activated dproto subservers please. Many admins create subserver just for help players with old client version but not for a spam. Subservers send only real info (players, slots) about real server, so they are not fake.

If all of them will be full it will be really laggy.

First of all I'd like to say how much I appriciate your work around setting and support such a service for free. I guess a lot of players and admins around the world share my oppinion.
I am using your service a bit less than a year, that is since December 2009. My server runs on dynamic ip address and I used to register it using dynamic dns name lx.selfip.org. Since I use dproto 0.8.68 I had configured it for using a secondary redirect server for old protocol support. It uses port 27056, while the main server runs on 27055. Lately my server was removed from your registry and the statistics shows it is offline despite the fact the server is up and running and the routing works fine. Looking through all recent forum discussions I came to some conclusions.
In my humble oppinion, you shouldn't remove all the clones or redirect servers that shares one ip address, just remove all of them but one , e.g. with the least port number. Further on, you should not ban ip addresses because tomorrow the spammer server would change it to a new one and will register it in your database again, while a law-abiding server will receive a banned from your service ip. As for me it is not fair. And the last suggestion to improve your service is to create some mechanism that in case of registering a dynamic ip, the system would not register new server ip addresses leaving the old in the database but alter them to new.
Thank you in advance for your time to read my suggestions.

I don't think your server has been removed because of one redirect server. What is your server IP or the host name?
The system itself got little bit overloaded due to all the thousands of redirect servers. The system is stll in process of getting back to normal. That might have caused for example your dynamic IP server not being "followed" as fast as usually. Registering new redirect servers isn't as easy as it was, so it seems we've solved the redirect problem.
