I would prefer the 'startmovie name' command, without avi of course (bad compression). It will create a *.tga file for every frame, then put them all together in your movie editor.use the programs fraps
If you want to use slow-motion, use 'host_framerate 60' or 'host_framerate 90'. If not, use 'host_framerate 30'. You should also disable your HUD

As far as i know avi was removed some time ago. But i only had problems with it, it couldnt create the files fast enough so the movie i could create from them lagged hardI would prefer the 'startmovie name' command, without avi of course (bad compression). I personally hate Fraps, i like MSI Afterburner more. Its an overclocking tool for ur Graphic card, but i can also record And its doing a pretty good job, fluentyl recording @ 30 fps 1920x1080 on my internal hdd.

That's the price for quality.. With tga, 1 frame should be around 2mb, depending on your resolution. That means, that 1 second (30fps) should be around 60mb. 1 minute = 3.6gb (I hope that I did no mistake..). But you will get the best quality with it..avi stories, i can't forget! 1 gb(file size)/per second! First time i tried that 2 minutes later my main hdd was full, and i said ''wtf is going on?! "
