Lots of these "fake" servers seem to be Zombie mod. Are you sure they are always fake? Zombie mod servers usually have lots of bots as zombies because nobody likes to play zombie. It may look like fake server, but in reality it's just a zombie mod server.
Also I'm not sure about these 1 fake server hosters. If they have only *one* fake server, why is it only one?! If they can fake one, why don't they fake 10? It must be dproto's subserver in these cases. Also, it's not so much of annoyance as 10 fake servers, so these one fake server hosters are untouched for now. We need to find out which software they're using to create the one fake server. There are too many only one fake server hosters for it to be just coincidence. There must be explanation why there's always only one server, albeit clearly fake server on the list.

i don't know if this is true , i'm just trying to find an explanation why on the web there are ~6000 cs1.6 servers and in game are ~15000-20000 cs1.6 servers

There are good reasons not to remove offline servers immediately from the weblist if they are offline for 10-60 minutes etc. That's why the lists don't match 100%.

some of these have been posted before but it seems that haven't been banned
hey Ghost , you should consider baning range 79.112.0.0-79.119.255.255 or CIDR 79.112.0.0/13
as i said before , these are dinamic IP's , nobody is really hosting real servers on this range ... just a lot of fakes.
also 92.83.0.0/16 , nobody hosts real servers on this range

Has anybody else noticed, but the ports 29000 and 27000 are quite popular in these fake server reports. What is that? It's not coincidence when 50% of the fakes are in these ports. We need to find out this one. I've no idea what this is. They're not FakeHLDS at least.

somebody creates a normal HLDS with the fake players and simple redirect amxx plugins, creates a batch script to start the server over and over again with diffrent port and hostname (server.cfg) in a a range of ports for example 100 server with port range 27000-27100 or 29000-29100... but it can be any range , however for some reason this two are the most common port range.
it's very easy to check if these are really fakes with a hlds query script like this http://www.ilogicgroup.org/status/
for example http://www.ilogicgro...7.72&port=10002
all players have the same online time.
check this out http://translate.goo...howtopic=311195
and delete the link after , PM it's not working on the forum... at least i don't see anywhere option to send PM

Also remember that banning servers isn't Setti's niche, listing servers is. Setti server lists contain thousands of servers that users have acclaimed superior to Valve's. Don't deviate too far from the basics and you'll see that the list doesn't get any better by banning more servers. The few fake servers shouldn't be given too much attention. We'll rather concentrate on making the normal servers better.
I think it's Mission Accomplished Good work people

Also i know that banning servers isn't Setti's goal but the bigest fakers should be banned by IP range not one by one , like that 79.112.0.0-79.119.255.255 range we talked above.
there are every day diffrent IP's with 20-50 redirects, and what i really hate is that they are using other server names.
like this stupid shithead is using for few months now.

As of this moment the server submission form doesn't accept servers to be submitted to ranges 79.112.x.x - 79.119.x.x or 188.24.x.x. There's notification to contact Setti administration. If there are normal server admins in these IP ranges they can contact Setti administration easily and we'll add the servers.
Don't you agree that this is better than block possibly lots of other future server admins just because of misunderstanding?

i agree ...this solution sounds good, thank you.As of this moment the server submission form doesn't accept servers to be submitted to ranges 79.112.x.x - 79.119.x.x or 188.24.x.x. There's notification to contact Setti administration. If there are normal server admins in these IP ranges they can contact Setti administration easily and we'll add the servers.
