Hey guys, I just saw this website and I think it's awsome.
I used to love to play Day of Defeat in cyber cafes with my friends, I saw you guys have servers that actually still host that.
How would I be able to connect to those DoD servers?
Do I need to download half life 2 and then DoD mod? (I found DoD v3.1)

Download steam + Smartsteam v1.41 fix
Download the latest version of HL engine.gcf

Put it in your steamapps folder
Download HL1 completely
Then download DOD 1.3

also why do I need HF1? wasn't DOD1.3 ran on HL2?

The download link for half life engine.gcf doesnt seem to be working, clicked download now and page says not found.

NVM, I found another half life engine.gcf file exactly same size as the one you posted
I finished steam and smartsteamv1.39 (cuz they said v1.41 isnt working atm)
got the gcf file in steam apps
ran smart steam and everything seems to be working fine
but when i try to download half life 1 through steam it keeps saying steam is too busy to handle your request right now... (is this normal? or i missed soemthing)

ya I downloaded your gcf, it was actually the same one I had already but I replaced it anyways.
problem now is I can't download half life or dod through steam, it keeps saying server is too busy to handle my request, I googl'ed some forums and read some solutions like change download region or reinstalling steam, none worked, still says server too busy -.-
