everytime i disconnect a server my css crashes help plz !

Hi. i've been searching forever for update patches and online patches but i can never find one i can trust. can you tell e what is the current version and where can i get it? and the online patch too. every patch i find is a virus

in counter strike source steampipe how to play in an old version server with an updated patch?

 

In order to connect to a server, your CSS client and the CSS server must have the same version.

 

hmm once i use other non steam ver of css (such as br***.org) it can view other players avatar as their own steam profile pictures (on socreboard). how can i set it to track theirs (on setti)?

Just want to make it's looks legit :3

If i remember well, the avatars were visible correctly with our release. And the Steam profile pictures of the legit players. But i'm not 100% sure. But here is something that maybe will fix this.

Go here: "...\Counter-Strike Source"

Open the rev.ini file with notepad.

Find this line: "Use_avatar ="

Check if it's set to "true" or "false".

Let's try something.

Right click on the shortcut of the game.

Select properties and then the "Compatibility" tab.

Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP Service Pack 3" from the list below.

Click the "Apply" button and close the window. Finally run the game, check if that worked and report the results here.

You souldn't have this error. Did you edited the rev.ini file before so you did something wrong? Did you download and install the game from us or from somewhere else?

Weird. As far as i remember the flashlight is working great. Anyway, i will check it and i will post a solution asap. But here is a question for now. What if you have binded something else on the key of the flashlight? Or what if you have cleared the bind of that key by mistake? Check it.

No, i dont change anything in the keys. the flashlight is bind with "f". And thats the only option thats binded with "f"...

 

The only thing i have change is the language from english to german. And i add some Maps...

You can download and install the SteamPipe release but you must install it in a different folder and not in the same folder as your old CSS. Otherwise the files of the SteamPipe release will mess up with the files of the old OrangeBox release. Your CSS folder will be a chaos and your CSS will probably not work. So the SteamPipe release can't update the old CSS.

Hey again buddy.

I checked the flashlight on a PC of a friend that he has downloaded and installed our release. The flashlight was working great with the "F" key. I can't understand what's wrong in your case.

 

Please try this:

Run your CSS and open the console via the "~" key.

Then type this command: r_shadows 1

Finally check if that worked.

 

If that didn't work, try this:

Go here: "...\Counter-Strike Source\cstrike\custom\setti\cfg"

Edit the autoexec.cfg file with notepad and add this on a new line: bind k "impulse 100"

Save the file, run CSS and check if that worked.

 

Whichever solution you tried, report the results here.
