So what im trying to say here is that i really miss the good times on the server and the people ofc. 

I met really awesome people while playing there and even made some friends that are still my good friends.

 

I would love to have a minecraft server with a completely new map. 

im sure many (atleast i hope so) feel the same about bringing the setti minecraft community alive again

it would be great to see a vanilla server and maybe tekkit classic and play those with the awesome people of this community.

I really belive that this community still has a future ahead and that its not completely dead.

There are so many things i want to talk about, but it would be painful via smartphone. 1-2 weeks left till i get my own net. I was "borrowing" net from neighbor for 7 months.

For now i would like to suggest the following. If you are going not to use the old world, load it for one last time, use that shader thing and record the top 5 or 10 or whatever creations. Make a cool video which will be like an advertisement. In this way people will see that the players in the server have enough passion and madness to build insane things. Then upload the video to a file hoster so everyone who have subs on a YouTube channel can download it and upload it there. We will also upload it to Setti's YT channel. Sadly there are so few videos uploaded there. :s

It has been for a while that I was away but today I see people on CS:GO setti server. It's nice too see old pals again

In recent CS:GO updates VALVe modified a cvar or a part of a code and SMAC false bans almost everyone. I noticed that when i saw around 20 bans in a row by SMAC in our ban list. I updated SMAC so hopefully this is fixed now. I also have already started unbanning bans based on the creation date of this topic. It's actually a report about this issue.

 

Anyway. I hope this is fixed now since i updated SMAC. If the issue continues, i will have to disable the specific SMAC module. But that means we will have to count on our admins more.

Hey everyone.

 

HLStatsX causes high CPU useage when it transfers data from the CSS / CSGO servers to the database in real time. Most of the pong server crashes (if not all of them) are caused by that. Plus i noticed that it's probably the reason of players having a bit higher ping than normal. I say that because one day HLStatsX wasn't working. I joined the CSGO main server and i had 80-90 ping while i have 90-100 with HLStatsX working. Same goes to another player who was in the server that day, Joker aka Arma. He had 30-40 ping while he has 40-50 with HLStatsX working.

 

So i suggest we temporarily shut HLStatsX down until we move to the new website. After we do that, HLStatsX will be installed on the server where the new forum will be installed. Not on the server where the game servers are installed as it is till now. Which means we will have HLStatsX without these issues. The current rank and stats of each player will be transferred to the new HLStatsX installation. So there is no worry of players lose them.

Yesterday a guy added me on Steam just to report me that sometimes he gets kicked from the CS:GO FFA DM server due to reserved slots when the server is full. Damn it. I fucked the servers up so much, that they are full every day.   

The third admin group makes perfect sense. The setti admin hierarchy just doesn't make sense (anymore). Why do I have full admin rights on CS servers, when I'm only keeping the servers up-to-date?
Or even better, the other way round. Why do I have full access to the root server and forum system, when I only want to permanently ban players? Why does one skill qualifies me for everything else?

The third admin group isn't the perfect solution, that's obvious; but it makes sense. You can't be sure that the admins will do everything right. You can't be sure that they won't change their attitude once they got more rights. But is that reason enough to leave every admin with 6h ban rights?
Let's face it, ban requests are annoying. Waiting until the demo file is available, then finding the correct one. Noting the ticks. Etc. That's not really practicable.

Admins should prove that they do a good job. If their ban requests are fine and they show some forum activity, they should be eveluated for permanent ban rights. If they abuse their rights, reports will come. Maybe not on the first abuse, but they will come.

About your missiles example, I don't think it fits well. Launching for example a nuclear weapon isn't figuratively comparable to banning one person. I think a police officer fits better. He's like some kind of real life admin. At one point of his qualification, he's handed over a gun. Now he can shoot, and kill, if necessary. The country trusts him to use the gun wisely. If he abuses it, he will be arrested.
