Server gathers console's information for ping limit. Not scoreboard's one. Since your ping is 100 on scoreboard it is going to be 140 (at least) in console. If I was you I would just find ways to improve my internet connection (like I did)

Noo.. it goes by latency on scoreboard....im pretty sure. If the limit is set to 120 I still won't be kicked until my scoreboard goes past it.

I checked earlier playing on setti #1 and my ping in console was 127 ( exactly 100 latency ) but I wasn't kicked even though it has limit of 120. Another player with 80 latency also had ~120 ping in console.

I have the best internet I can get, and I am pretty far from setti server location but there's nothing bad about 100 ping, alot of players on setti have similar.

I'm sure 99.999 percent of players on setti wouldn't mind if I was playing there with 100 latency. Nobody else complains except you.  As I said, many regular players have the same ping as me. Are you going to permanently ban all them as well?

Latency on the scoreboard is the time it takes for my mouseclick to register with the server.

Ping in console is the round trip, back to me. So again, ping in console should not be important to you as it only refers to how long it takes information to be sent back to me. (This is why ping limits enforced by the server are based on latency) Everybody will have a ping 30-40ms higher than their latency unless playing on LAN. Your own ping is what's important. In fact, players with higher ping have a disadvantage over lowered ping players and vice versa.

You must have banned me because you think I have an advantage (higher ping makes it harder for you to hit me? Why else would my ping bother you?) This simply isn't true though unless I was warping around the place. This only happens when people download + play css or because of a poor quality line  causing large jumps in ping constantly  as the player isn't able to send enough updates to the server to make movement smooth. EDIT: Players from russia have 90-100ms pings. Why the ping increase to 150? So players with broken nets can join? You can't depend on system to do this job. Like KAC. Most cheaters need to be banned manually. With ping-kick is the same.

You are going by ping in console not scoreboard.

My ping on scoreboard is 100-110 at most. Ping limits enforced by servers go by this.

If you are banning people over 120 by console ping command then you will need to ban ALOT of people... everyone over 80ms latency. If this is the case, alot of regular players along with me should receive permanent bans. Maybe its because I'm a better player than you and kill you all the time?

I do not teleport. PROVE that I teleport and I'll accept the ban. Look at the demo I posted above and tell me where I am lagging? You saw me, you shot, you missed. I killed you. You say I was lagging and ban me. Here is what happened

1. I jumped over the ledge and saw someone with an awp.
2. I strafed to the left to try get out of your view asap
3. You shoot and miss due to my strafing.
4. I hear the awp shot so knowing you can't shoot again right away I strafe back to the right and get 2 deagle shots in.
5. You die.


You have no idea how css netcode works. CSS is an online game, every player has different ping so the game has alot of ways to make it as irrelevant as possible to make the game fair for everyone (interp,prediction etc). If a player from china with 400 ping was playing, you wouldn't even realise it unless you looked on the scoreboard. As long as the internet is stable there is no 'warping' or teleporting'.
I have been playing css since 2005 with this same internet on hundreds of public servers and have never been permanently banned from any server because of my ping. That just goes to show how wrong your decision is. Infact, nobody has ever complained. I even play on some US public servers with 150 latency (around 190 ping in console). Sure, some people say.. hey your ping is high but nothing more.

You take things far too seriously, do you actually think I deserve a permanent ban? I think you are just looking for attention. I was playing with you today on setti d2 server for 4 or 5 hours and you didn't ban me, why the change of heart now?

Hi, I  was playing on setti d2 yesterday minding my own business then I got banned.

I was playing for 5 or 6 rounds until I killed sculder.

My ping was 104, the ping limit for the server is 150. Another player had the same ping but he wasn't banned.

I was also never banned by another admin because of this and I used to play on setti very often a few months - a year ago under the name LOL THE PIRATE KNIFER.

Things like this happen in css. People kill teammates by accident. Sculder ran into your line of fire, how were you meant to know he would? You obviously can't know so you shouldn't have been slayed or banned. Maybe he shouldn't be strafing side to side. A smart player would know that it is not a good idea when there is alot of teammates behind you who are all trying to kill enemies. Does he just expect everyone to stop firing because Sculder the almighty is infront? LOL

Not to mention there was an obvious wallhacker on the server, yet he did nothing. Another player was asking sculder some questions and sculder just ignored
him. You are a completely useless admin, who does nothing but intentionally annoy people.

I checked the server after he banned me and he was no longer there. Which reinforces my point that he wasn't really banning me because of my ping. He just wanted to piss someone off before he left.

I almost play everytime on setti #1, perhaps sometimes on d2 only cuz servers are empty....
My rule book is, cuz i can't kick a player, but i can give 5 min bans to players like:
- spaming radio
- light TF
- light TA
- provoking another player
- camping at spawn with bomb, etc.
- and AFK
if u come back and stop doing those things, u play, if not, 30min comes.
2 Hours ban comes to people such like:
- cheaters
- Constant trouble makers
- people who expresses their grudge on innocent players
- plus i get rid of noobs with 1:17 score, cuz we have other servers for him to train.

Now please stop crying and i'm banning only when I see no other admin on. Or if he's late. But i almost never ever ban when an full admin is online.

Well considering half admins are pretty much not real admins, I think half admins ( the ability to ban for 2 hours ) should be given to all regular players who look like they could be trusted to get the cheaters out of the server asap.

I've never seen this 'half admin' thing ever before. Personally I think it is silly. Right now, the way setti's admin thing works isn't effective at all. If cheaters knew that all admins could ban permanently then they wouldn't keep joining. I've seen some cheaters on setti 3 that have been banned around 5 times by half admins, yet they just keep coming back.

So yeah, if setti is going to keep its full admin, and half admin thing, half admin should be given to as many regulars as possible with instructions to only ban cheaters, then report the player with steamid in ban request section.
